HD Phones

Well you probably guessed it, but I' tell you anyway. HD Phones are here, the current
HD phone is a nokia though its capabilities aren't up to much. Though I myself aren't so much concerned by the fact that these phones are out, it does interest me as it seems like a sign of things to come. Everything seems to be becoming HD.

The knew Samsung Omnia HD (i8910) will have much more capabilities and power then its current competitor. It will have 16gb storage, with a micro sd slot for extra. To top it of the camera will be 8mp which is far better then most phones at the moment. Though these specs don't really grab me, they definitely will excite a lot of people.

I'd rather have a phone and camera then a big clunky phone camera. I'll be interested when the phones are streamline and can shoot top qaulity video.

Lego NXT repost

I've reposted the lego NXT Final movie. I've posted it up in a HD format, as the over video didn't look quite so impressive. I cleaned up my youtube profile a bit for it had some work that I wasn't to keen on, I think its important that people see the better side of my work, rather then scrappy pieces.

Here again I tagged it appropriately and included details of my blog and what I specialise in.

A job

Video Editor/camera operator

Hours: Up to 30 hrs (Evenings and possibly Saturday)
An opportunity has arisen for 4 aspiring Video Editors/Camera Operators, with an interest in Internet based Streaming Media to join one of the UK's leading Online Video and Web Production Companies.
This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and enhance your portfolio. You should be a highly motivated, organised and punctual individual. You will be required to work Monday to Thursday evening from 5pm to 10pm.
You will be expected to work unsupervised and will have the flexibility of editing off-site at your leisure. This position will suit current Media students at College/University or graduates who wish to put into practice the skills they have learned.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and skilled video editor or student with a good working knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or other leading software. Knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Illustrator & Photoshop is also an advantage.
Duties to include:
*Liaising with our client at the venue
*Liaising with the client on site and setting up equipment and operating the system during events.
*Packing and unpacking all equipment.
*All maintenance and upkeep of equipment and all general office duties.
*Post production work: the role typically involves editing
*Editing and management of videos and equipment.

Here's a job that looks pretty much up my street. The only problem is that there is there's just one thing that I'm not very experienced with, that is the adobe premier pro app. Though I think if I was to try and get this job I'd have learn about it. As you can see it is aimed at students. I may well have a go at applying for this job though I'm not sure how it would fit into my current hours. Though it does say you can work off site, which would be handy as its based in Birmingham, which isn't so close to me (Harrogate).

The pays just £6.00 hour and thats less then I get now, though this wouldn't bother me so much as I don't really enjoy working at a clothes shop and its not helping my career, though this job would.

Pigsy in space Youtube

Here's mine and Ashes video for the pigsy in space song. We are pretty happy with the Final but npt completely.

Though we thought it was important to put it online, so that people from anywhere could look at it. You never know really, if someone liked it enough or it got enough attention it would be something good for reffering to. Its had around 80 views, so its getting some attention at least.

this may be because I Damon Alvbarn is in the title and I put quite a few tags in it such as Chinese art, Jpaanese art manga, motion graphics.

It would be good to get some hi-res imagery up on the net, I think this may come about when I do my show reel.

I also put a couple of links to my blog site and ash's respectively. I didn't do this on the NXT project but I though it would be a good idea as it may attract some attention.

callan Woolcock

Here's an interesting After Effects artist, he utilities mainly After Effects. This is a show he's produced, you can see he has a pretty varied skill level. From animated text to vector art, to animated Graphics for 3D. It may well be important to have as many strings to your bow as you can. To succeed, to open up more opportunity, I think you need to be able to do quite a few different things.

Above is where I found the job description. It sounds like the kind of work that I'd aspire to doing. Although it just seems a bit vague, perhaps I could inquire further, with maybe a view to work experience. This looks like a rather good site though they dont leave you with the option to contact the company itself. Apart from posting your CV there isn't much way of actually getting in touch with the company. Though I have signed up with the agency .

semag

Here's an agency that recruits people for different websites. It's a pretty flashy site and mentions such jobs company's as "Guerilla" (the company that created Killzone 2). They seem to have vacancies in many departments such as pre-production, 3D (maya and such). Though not many jobs with After effects skills necessary and this is something that I'd like to develop.

I think I should look out for more jobs with a need for After Effects skills.

http://jobs.trovit.co.uk/jobs/- Jobsite

Here's an ok jobsite that I've found. The reeason I say ok is that it doesn't ell you much about the company that you are apllying too. I've looked at some of the jobs but its annoying when you can't find information and you have no one to contact to find it out.
